The Golden Retriever Breed
With the discovery of these loyal, fun and heartwarming dogs, golden retrievers popularity grow in all seasons. First bred for hunting stability and resistance to cold and wet terrain of northern Europe, the golden retrievers have already become a popular breed among families, search and rescue groups and service groups. Along with their bouncy, upbeat personalities when people think of what a golden retriever should be, certain things come to mind.
When people say, golden retrievers, they think of their appearance. These dogs are big, strong, active breed, and their bodies should reflect that. Their bodies are full of muscles under their luxurious coats. They were bred to be able to track the game through the underbrush of forests and their structure is what allows them to do so. Golden retriever men may be 23-24 inches in height at the withers and 65 to 75 pounds. Females may be slightly lower at 21 ½ to 22 ½ inches in height at the withers and 55 to 65 pounds. In addition to its size, golden retrievers usually have a very sweet face, which affects the satisfaction of those in their presence.
Partially known for its gorgeous color coats, golden retrievers come in various shades of gold. They range from creamy color of rust. Golden retrievers have a dense, water-repellent coating, which serves its purpose to protect the marshy conditions in the northern Europeans used to hunt in which they were originally bred goldens. Golden retrievers require moderate care. They usually double layered coat needs grooming twice weekly or more often if heavily shedding. Although they do not start getting clipped entirely, as some other breeds of dogs, they require straggly hair must be trimmed. Golden retriever has a dense coat may be straight or moderately wavy but it lie in front of your body. The Canadian golden retriever breed is a mix of both the British golden and the American golden. They are similar in height and weight to the American golden but contain a color that is close but not as light as the British goldens.
The average person also tends to associate golden retrievers with a friendly and confident personality. They are one of the most trainable breeds. They have the ability to sit quietly for hours in a hunting blind as well as put their focus into a given task and work until collapse. Their limits in a work dog have only been seen in the area of being a good watch dog because of their love for people and strangers.
